Aam Panna (A Refreshing Raw Mango Drink)

This mango drink is traditionally made in every Indian house hold during summer to beat the scorching heat of Indian summer. This drink is not just refreshing but has remedial properties against heat stroke and heat exhaustion.Raw green mangoes which are hard  when touched are used to make this drink. It has a sweet and sour taste. It is considered beneficial in the treatment of gastro-intestinal disorders. This drink is also a good source of vitamin B1 and B2 and contains sufficient quantity of niacin, and since it is prepared from raw mangoes it is an excellent source of vitamin C also.

Ingredients

  • 1 Raw mango (mango should be green and hard)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder (dry roast the cumins in a pan )
  • a pinch pepper crushed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • few mint leaves

Method
Wash and boil mangoes for 20 mins in a covered pan. Let them cool. Peel,and take out the pulp.Add sugar and salt to the pulp and blend in a blender

Add cumin powder, crushed peppercorns. Divide the mixture into four tall glasses, fill it up with chilled water. Stir well and  serve with mint leaves.
